I’m in lockdown. Coronavirus has completely unwoven the fabric of my life. So why am I so damn excited?
A massive portal to quick transformation has opened. Will you take the opportunity?
That depends on whether or not you get sucked into the equally massive trap of emotional and mental manipulation that comes along with world changing events like the pandemic.
Everything is up for grabs, nothing is untouchable. Money? Check. Relationships? Absolutely. Career and creativity? Go for it. Everything is negotiable. But let’s face it, it’s somehow more appealing to feel stuck, trapped, victimized, fearful or sad.
It’s totally okay to acknowledge it. In fact, if you are feeling this way, the very best thing you can do is own it. All the powers that be are working overtime to keep you feeling stuck, angry, indignant, victimized, grief-stricken, trapped, and…helpless.
So, they got you. No shame in that. They are pros, they’re all banked up and they never sleep! So of course their tactics are going to be insanely difficult to resist, repel, overcome. But once you realize it, you can change it, if you get it early enough.
If you keep going down one of those paths, it will very soon feel like the only reality that exists and nothing else will even seem possible after a while.
They are creating a world for you, a reality. It’s very powerful. But so are you. So are you. You create worlds. You are very powerful. And nothing can overtake you without your consent, even if that comes in the form of just getting swept up in a path and willingly continuing along with it. It’s not like you get some disclaimer and a waiver to sign. Your consent comes from not acknowledging, asserting and defending your own agency. Not thinking deeply and critically and maturely for yourself, thus letting yourself be used to serve someone else’s agendas.
You can completely shed your old skin. In fact, that may have already started.
Does that sound exciting? I think so, but you have to acknowledge how scary that is, too. And so you might be trying to crawl back in it, which is thoroughly gross, but who can blame you? Fast change is unsettling. Instant change, even more so. Believe me, I know a little about that!
Or you might be stuck grieving, either for what you’ve lost, or seeing what other people are losing. Maybe you’ve shed your skin. Maybe it’s sitting there all crispy and hollow — kind of looks like you, but creepy. And you grieve it. What was. You’re dragging this thing around, trying to put it back on, wrapping it around when you go to sleep at night, for comfort.
When you realize this is a type of new incarnation coming through, you can celebrate the shed skin rather than grieve it. Because it’s shed, but there is a new incarnation right there in its place. It’s like a newborn — miraculous, and weird looking, full of the unknown and also, wonder. But delicate, too. Protect this newborn from too harsh lights, too loud sounds, smokers…and women who wear a lot of cheap perfume! Don’t waste your time grieving your shed skin while neglecting your newly born incarnation.
